A new project for Thorne
We have been asked to create a piece of touring theatre for the people of Thorne, near Doncaster, as part of the Right Up Our Street project. This is a slightly different project for us in that we will be working with a group of four devisers/performers/directors to create a small scale show based on research and story gathering in the town. This cast will then be supplemented by community performers and musicians and we will look to take it to a range of community venues. We want to create a highly energetic and witty piece that is very portable and seen by a good number of people.
It’s very early days; we’re still putting together the team and have yet to start our investigations. Although Thomas Crapper – he of toilet fame – was born in Thorne.
