Over many months in 2025 we worked with Made With Many to research and create an audio trail exploring the history of the African Caribbean community in the town. Working with over forty people we created an audio trail (soon to be shared) which is built around a set of five stories.
We met many incredible people doing this work, including Anita Neil, the first Black female athlete to represent Great Britain in the Olympic games.
The work was part of a wider heritage arts trail which it is hoped will expand over the coming years.
