Southwell Peculiar

‘Tell me about Southwell; what it is, what it has been, of the things that have happened here, which have happened nowhere else’. Funded by the Arts Council this was our very own Mystery Cycle for 2010 in which we told the entire history of Southwell in one of the East Midlands most impressive buildings, Southwell Minster.

Southwell Peculiar was a collection of tales presented by an enormous cast of people from the town and the villages beyond;  tales that told of Stonemasons and Murderers, of Romantic Poets and Bramley Apples, of Cardinals, Kings and the Women’s Institute.

By creating a performance made up of many smaller and self contained scenes, each with their own unique casts, we were able to recruit a number of directors to work with us on this.
