Riot Act

Originally commissioned by the Nottingham Playhouse next Spring will see the first public performance of this raucous, foul mouthed, and political play set in Nottingham during the Luddite uprisings. Whereas ‘The Hammer of Defiance’ (which we produced two versions of, in Ashfield and Nottingham) was resolutely set in the early 19th century, this is a more fluid text that in exploring the birth of modern capitalism revels in anachronism.
We can’t give details of where this will be held as yet, but it is being staged as a rehearsed reading with live music in a venue with a really strong connection to the story. We’re very excited.
More soon!
