Bercow, Galloway and John McDonnell
Our production of Tony’s Last Tape at the Clapham Omnibus this April attracted a lot of interest from the world of politics.
Alongside visits from John Bercow (an excellent Benn imitator), George Galloway (who reviewed the show here), and the Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell (who tweeted that the play ‘captures Tony’s absolute dedication to socialist change and his great sense of humour. Highly recommended’), Andy and Philip were also invited onto Iain Dale’s LBC political radio show to talk about the performance, and Adam Boulton’s All Out Politics for Sky News where they bumped into Nigel Farage. Andy also spoke to George Galloway on his show which can be heard here (it’s the 9pm to 9.30pm section, 4 minutes in). Other guests included many old friends of Tony as well as his children.
The reviews for the show were uniformly excellent with the Morning Star doing a feature alongside their review.
Scripts of the play are now available for £3, so if you want a copy do get in touch.
