Suno Suno
Suno Suno was a community play made with the residents of the Birajdar basti (slum) in Hadapsar, Pune. This came about through a large scale grant from the Global Challenges Research Fund received from DeMontfort University, Leicester and a resulting two years of work in India.
Excavate were instrumental in the conception of the project and worked with Swatantra to mentor them through the process and to help write the script. During our work, both in the UK and India, we held a range of workshops and attended various conferences including one at the Houses of Parliament.
We are now finding different ways to share the findings from this work, and hope to be able to show a VR film that documents one of the performances, at the 2020 ICAF festival.
